Western Australia Forecast

Weather Situation - Northern Western Australia
A high pressure system over the east of the continent is weakening ahead of an
approaching cold front. A weak trough will form over the Pilbara region during
the week, before a new ridge of high pressure develops over the south of the
state during Friday.

Weather Situation - Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system over the east of the continent is weakening, with a
trough near the west coast. A cold front will move over the southwest of the
state late Monday, with a second cold front expected late Wednesday. A new
ridge of high pressure will develop rapidly in the wake of the second cold
front towards the end of the week.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 26 May
Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the west Pilbara, and the far northwest
Gascoyne, with isolated showers throughout the remaining Gascoyne. Isolated
light showers through the northern and southeast of the SW Land Division.

Forecast for Monday 27 May
Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the western of the Pilbara and adjacent
Gascoyne. Isolated showers over the remaining Gascoyne, far western Interior
and western Goldfields. Isolated showers developing throughout most of the SW
Land Division, increasing about southwestern parts towards evening, with
isolated thunderstorms.

Forecast for Tuesday 28 May
Showers over the southwest half of the state. Thunderstorms possible about the
lower SW and South Coastal district. Isolated thunderstorms in the western
Pilbara and adjacent Gascoyne.

Forecast for Wednesday 29 May
Isolated showers about the western Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields, southern
Interior and Eucla, clearing from the west during the day. Isolated showers
about northern and eastern parts of the SW Land Division, clearing during the
day. Scattered showers developing about the SW district and extending to
adjacent parts in the evening, with possible isolated thunderstorms.

Forecast for Thursday 30 May
A band of scattered showers contracting eastwards though the SW Land Division
and into the Goldfields and Eucla during the day. Isolated showers persisting
in the wake of the band through the SW Land Division, clearing northeast parts
by evening. Isolated showers about the southern Interior and eastern Eucla for
a period during the day.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Monday.
