Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 10:44 AM CST on January 14, 2013 ...Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 8 am CST Tuesday... The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for a light wintry mix of snow and freezing rain...which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 8 am CST Tuesday. * Precipitation will begin this afternoon...mainly first as a light snow and then possibly changing over to a light freezing rain or drizzle later this afternoon and into early Tuesday morning. * Although roadways are relatively warm...some ice could coat trees and other elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses especially this evening and overnight. * Although any ice is not expected to impact many roads...a coating of ice on trees could lead to a Falling Branch potential. Any snow at onset...or any ice on elevated surfaces will lead to slick conditions. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.
