A cold front is expected to sweep across the mid state tonight and
produce the possibility for a few strong to severe thunderstorms...
especially west of Interstate 65. The main threat is expected to
be damaging straight line winds and hail. In addition...locally
heavy downpours may cause brief ponding of water in low lying and
poorly drained areas.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed western middle Tennessee in
a slight risk area for severe weather tonight.
The line of storms is expected to reach the Tennessee River valley
by late this evening... then push to the Interstate 65 corridor
around midnight...and onto the Cumberland Plateau late tonight.
