...A slight risk of severe thunderstorms across all of middle
Tennessee on Friday...

A strong cold front is expected to move across middle Tennessee
during the evening hours on Friday. Ahead of this cold
front...strong southerly low level winds will develop as atmospheric
instability and moisture increase.

With afternoon high temperatures around 70...and strong winds
aloft...there is the potential for severe thunderstorms with
damaging winds...large hail and isolated tornadoes...from Friday
afternoon through the evening hours.

Heavy rainfall is also expected with this storm system...with total
rainfall amounts ranging from one inch...to as much as three
inches...near the Tennessee/Alabama border...from Friday morning
through Saturday morning.

Residents across middle Tennessee and those who will be traveling in
and out of middle Tennessee on Friday should keep aware of this
potential severe weather situation. Please stay tuned to NOAA
